This is a interconnected tetralogy (four books) in which the first three end on a cliffhanger. There is a happily ever after, but we take the scenic route. Basically, I just wanted it noted that this series gets progressively darker in content and themes, and I would hate for you to get attached to these characters only to be unable to finish the series.
